Can I have more than two drivers?
The Motability Scheme allows you to propose up to two
drivers, one of whom may be the Hirer. Under certain circumstances,
a third driver may be included for which an additional premium
will be payable.A charge of £73 per year or part of applies. Alternatively
£219 can be paid to cover the full 3-year policy. Please note
however, a third driver may only be included for the period you
have remaining on your policy.

Is the Hirer automatically insured as
a driver?
The hirer is not automatically permitted to drive the vehicle
If the Hirer wishes to drive the vehicle they must ensure that
their name appears under the permitted drivers section of the
Certificate of Motor Insurance.

Is there a charge to change the permitted
drivers?
You are allowed to have two nominated drivers,
one of whom may be the Hirer. You are able to amend either of these
drivers with no additional fee at any time by contacting
Royal & SunAlliance Motability Customer Services Department

the online form provided on this website.

Can I include a temporary change
of driver?
Yes - either click here and

Please note that cover is not effective until you are in possession

Do I need to tell you if my medical
condition changes?
No - providing your GP has passed you to drive and the
DVLA are aware of your condition and have issued the
appropriate driving licence, you do not need to tell us.

Do I need a Green Card for the Republic
of Ireland or the European Union?
No - These are included in your vehicle cover and a Green Card is
not required. However you should take your Certificate of Motor
Insurance as evidence of cover.
Motability Operations advise that you obtain European breakdown
cover before you take your car abroad. RAC European Motoring
Assistance is available as an optional addition to Motability
Assist customers at specially discounted rates.
Am I insured to drive my friend's
vehicle under this insurance?
No. You can only drive your Motability car
and any vehicle provided by or on behalf of Motability Operations
in direct replacement of it.

can they drive the Motability vehicle?
No - only those drivers named on your Certificate of Motor Insurance
may drive your Motability vehicle.

Am I entitled to any no claim discount
or bonus?
The Motability Scheme does not provide for any no claims discount
or bonuses. However, Royal & SunAlliance can provide a letter
confirming your claim history on the Scheme if required.

What happens if I lose my Certificate
of Motor Insurance?
